Smart tags
Smart tags: tag your trades automatically when they import
Smart tags are rules that add tags to trades as they are imported or synced, so your reports can group trades by session, symbol, size or outcome without you tagging each one. You find them in Settings.
How a rule is built
Each rule has a name, one or more conditions, and the tags it adds. A trade gets the tags only when every condition matches. You can test on:
- Symbol, Side, Quantity and Duration (minutes).
- Entry time and Exit time, in New York time (ET).
- Session: Asia (18:00–03:00 ET), London (03:00–09:30 ET), New York (09:30–16:00 ET) or After hours (16:00–18:00 ET).
- Net P&L ($) and R-multiple.
- Account.
- Existing tag: match trades that already have, or do not have, a tag.
Create one
- Open Settings and go to the Smart tags section.
- Click New rule and give it a name, for example Asia session MNQ.
- Add a condition for each thing that must be true. Use Add condition for more.
- Enter the tags to add, separated by commas, for example Asia, Scalp.
- Save, and make sure the rule is switched on.
How rules behave
- Rules only ever add tags. They never remove or change tags you added yourself.
- When several rules match a trade, each adds its tags from top to bottom. A rule lower down can see the tags added above it, which is how you chain rules with the Existing tag condition.
- Rules run on new imports and syncs only. To tag trades you already have, use Apply rules to existing trades: preview what would be added, then confirm. Nothing is removed, and tags you deleted after a rule added them stay deleted.
- Deleting a rule does not remove tags it already added.
Starting ideas
- Tag by Session to see which part of the day you trade best.
- Tag short Duration trades as scalps and compare them with longer holds.
- Tag by R-multiple to isolate your biggest losers.
