How to set up Risk & rules: drawdown, daily loss and consistency tracking

The Risk & rules page tracks your daily loss limit and drawdown against the trades you have logged, for a prop firm evaluation or funded account, or for your own capital. This guide walks through setting an account up and reading what it shows.

What it does and does not do

Drawdown tracking and breach alerts are a Core feature. The alerts warn you. They are not enforced by your broker or your firm, and Fillbook cannot stop a trade. Your firm and your platform stay the source of truth for your real limits.

Add an account

Firm presets are a quick-fill starting point, not a guarantee. Most firms run several account types, such as evaluation versus funded or intraday versus end-of-day trailing, with different numbers. The app shows when each preset was last reviewed and flags ones that may be out of date.

  1. Open Risk & rules and click Add account.
  2. Choose Prop firm or Personal capital.
  3. For a prop firm, pick your firm and account size to quick-fill the numbers, or choose Custom and type your own.
  4. Check every number against your firm’s current rules and your own account agreement before relying on it.

Trailing or static drawdown

Trailing means your floor rises with your peak equity, which is how most funded evaluations work. Static means the floor is fixed at account size minus the drawdown and never moves. Pick the type that matches your firm, because it changes your real buffer.

If you have not set the floor, Fillbook assumes it follows your closing balance. If your account trails your intraday peak instead, your real buffer is smaller than shown, so set it.

Daily loss limit and consistency rule

The buffer bars are computed from your logged trades, so there is nothing to update by hand as you trade. Import or sync first and they stay current.

  • Daily loss limit: the most you can lose in a day. The buffer bar compares today’s P&L against it.
  • Drawdown buffer: net P&L measured against your account’s floor.
  • Consistency rule: the maximum percentage of your profit that can come from a single day, for firms that use one.

Own-capital accounts

Choose Personal capital for your own money. The limit is a daily risk limit, and the starting points are suggestions, not advice. Dollar limits are worked out from the capital you enter and do not follow your balance, so update them if your capital changes. Fillbook measures the buffer from trades logged here and does not include deposits or withdrawals; log those on the Cash flow page.

Fillbook is a journaling and analytics tool, not financial advice. Rules, limits and presets are starting points: confirm them with your firm and your own records.
